MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
MLD is an advanced massage technique which is designed to improve the functioning of the lymphatic system. A well functioning lymphatic system contributes to healthy body tissue and plays an important role in the body’s immune response. An MLD therapist uses the massage to cleanse the body, reduce swelling and strengthen the immune system.Developed by the pioneering Dr Emil Vodder in 1930 who devised a unique set of gentle, rhythmical circling movements of the skin which stimulate the contraction of the blood vessels.
“Lymph drainage is a healthy, natural, painless and absolutely effective method which gives a new basis to life, health and beauty” Emil Vodder 1936

What can I expect from a Treatment?
You will need to undress, but only parts of the body that worked on will need to be exposed. After a consultation, I can decide which areas will benefit you the most, the length of treatment and how many treatments you would require. With many symptoms, a series of treatments would be required in order for it to be fully effective.
Please note that we would be unable to treat you with this method of you are suffering from untreated malignant disease, right-side cardiac insufficiency, thrombosis, acute infection (including cold and flu like symptoms or swollen glands), and lymphoedema or lipoedema.
